1. Install devices
Plug the HDMI cable from the Chromecast into the HDMI port on your TV.
HDMI ports are often located on the back or side of the TV.
Next, connect the AC adapter to the Chromecast unit and plug the power cable into an outlet.
2. Check your TV screen
Once the connection is made, check the TV screen to make sure it is working properly.
If you see a message prompting you to set up the device, the connection is successful.
If you don't see anything on the TV screen, check to see if the TV's input source is the same as the port you connected the Chromecast to.
If this is the case, make sure that the cables are properly connected.
3. Google Home download
To set up your Chromecast, search for and download the Google Home app for your smartphone.
It is also recommended that you turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your smartphone, as you will need them to proceed with the setup.
4. Turn on and log into Google Home
After you download Google Home, launch it. After the welcome message, tap "Try it" to go to the login screen.
On the login screen, enter the email address and password of your Google account.
If you do not have one, create a Google account beforehand.
When you have finished entering your information, tap "Next".
This will take you to the "Confirm Account" screen, where you will need to select the account you want to link to Google Home.
5. Link smartphone with Chromecast
Once you have confirmed your account, you can link your smartphone to Chromecast.
If your smartphone's Bluetooth is on, it will recognize the Chromecast as a device and go to setup.
If Bluetooth is off, you'll be prompted to turn it on.
If there are no problems, the connection should be made automatically.
After the "Connecting to Chromecast..." message, you should get the following prompt: "Do you see your code?".
At this point, check if the code displayed on your smartphone is the same as the code on your TV, and if it is, tap "Yes".
6. Select a location for the device
Once your smartphone recognizes the Chromecast, you will be prompted to select a location for your device.
The location you choose here will be the label that identifies your Chromecast.
7. Select Wi-Fi network
The next step is to select a Wi-Fi network. Here, be sure to select the same Wi-Fi network the smartphone you want to connect to uses.
After selecting a network, you will be asked to enter your Wi-Fi password. When you have finished entering your password, tap "Connect".
8. Connect to your Wi-Fi and let the device update
If you have entered the password correctly, Chromecast will go to the Wi-Fi connection flow.
Once the connection is complete, the software will be updated.
9. Finish setting up Chromecast
When the update is complete, Chromecast will restart, and the "Ready to Cast" screen should appear on your TV.
You will also see a message on your smartphone saying that Chromecast is now ready to use. You have finished setting up your device.
